My Book Launch, reading my Benny book to children, speeches and signing, It was a fun and very successful community event. I was told by my friends and family that they had a good time and it was a positive buzzy afternoon.
A Review from Sally Odgers Ever lost your buzz? Have you felt down, and flat, as if everything's too much trouble? Maybe you didn't even want to do your favourite things. Yes, losing the buzz in life is a serious thing. Benny the bee has lost his buzz. He knows he needs help but who has time for him? Luckily, he manages to find a friend with time to spare. Just talking about the problem helps, but Benny finds the support he needs. Slowly, he starts to feel better. His buzz comes back just in time for an important occasion. Benny is himself again and he knows what to do if it ever happens again. How Benny Gets His Buzz Back is a charming picture book for preschoolers and early readers. The colourful pictures are enticing, and Benny's problem is presented with sympathy and wisdom. There are no easy answers, but the author shows how life can improve, with time, with patience, and with the support of friends. Lost your buzz? Know someone who has? Wonder what it would be like? My apologies I haven't posted recently. I needed to have a break. Things with the book have been so hectic since it arrived on my door step. I am now up to the next delivery of books, that means I have sold more than 200 books. I now feel more rested and slowly am preparing for my visit to Glen Iris Primary in book week. I am having some trouble in getting Benny into bookstores but I will keep persisting. My editor Sally Odgers has invited me to participate in an interview blog. This is a great opportunity to work on answering questions on Benny. So as you can see I have lots to keep me occupied.
Wow what a month. Sorry I haven’t been writing in this blog. I have been busy with the tasks I need to do as an author. Getting Benny in book stores, keeping up with financial responsibilities, selling and signing copies. More recently I had been working on my book launch. Like the book I had my friends helping me with the preparations and on the day. The launch was on June 22nd and many people attended. I was fortunate to be able to read Benny to children. I then did my speech and Q and A. I was amazed how I spoke infront of 50 people. I felt so good speaking about my book and celebrating community and raising awareness of mental health at my launch. Then I went to the lounge room to sign books and be photographed by Vikki. I was so exhausted at the end of the day but I was so happy that I had achieved so much, so rewarding. I have heard that it was an enjoyable and positive event.
